The short version

  • Check the vehicle and gas inputs before driving.
  • Capture each delivery trip while the shift is active.
  • Review and correct the log before the next shift begins.

Before: confirm the inputs

Check the vehicle MPG and gas-price values used for estimates. Confirm that the trip-tracking settings you expect are available before you begin moving.

  • Confirm the active vehicle and MPG.
  • Update the current gas price when needed.
  • Check location access and trip settings.

During: capture only what helps

Record the delivery drive, keep time and mileage visible, and use a customer update when a delay, arrival detail, or weather condition changes the handoff.

  • Start or verify the delivery trip.
  • Review the time, mileage, and gas estimate when safely stopped.
  • Prepare and review a contextual customer message only when useful.

After: close the loop

End the trip, review the category and distance, and fix incomplete entries while the route is still familiar. Export records when you need an outside copy.

  • Confirm that the trip ended.
  • Review date, miles, duration, and category.
  • Export a CSV or PDF for the period you want to keep or share.

Common questions

Do I need to review every trip immediately?

You can review later, but a quick check at the end of the shift makes missing or misclassified details easier to recognize.

Can the workflow work for other delivery apps?

Yes. The same trip, fuel-estimate, message, and review workflow can support drivers working on other delivery platforms.
